You have a web guy

Before platforms and agencies, most small businesses had one person who built the site, hosted it, and picked up when something needed changing. That is still the job. I am that person—same contact from first page to year five.

  • I wrote the code; I handle the server
  • Menu change? Email it over. Form broke? Tell me.
  • Hosting and fixes are part of the deal—same person, same inbox
  • Launch is the heavy week; monthly is me staying on the site after that

The monthly part

The monthly fee is your web guy on retainer after launch.

  • Hosting, SSL, and keeping the lights on—I watch uptime and fix what breaks.
  • Call or email when something needs changing: hours, menu, photos, typos.
  • First months after launch: tighten speed and search basics while the site is new.
  • After that: you run the business; I keep the site current.

After launch

New sites get a pass in the first couple of months—speed, structure, how you show up in search—then into the usual maintenance rhythm.

  • Trim weight and fix slow paths—especially on phones.
  • Search Console: what queries show up, which pages get clicks, what titles need a tweak.
  • Page copy aligned to what you actually sell and where you are.

Search

Local queries—your neighbourhood, your services, the phrases people already type when they are looking for a business like yours.

How a build runs

  1. Direction

    Look, voice, references, copy. We align on what it should feel like before structure and price are locked.

  2. Build & launch

    Page list, UX, code, hosting—scoped from the package we agree on, or a written quote if your needs sit outside these guidelines. Launch goes live; monthly starts—you have a web guy on the site.

Terms

  • Packages are rough size guides; scope, price, and timeline are confirmed in writing after intake.
  • Page count means unique layouts and real content depth—not every URL. Regional pages on the same template count as one page family; sections on one scroll page count as one page.
  • Build is one-time (CAD). Monthly is your web guy staying on—hosting, fixes, updates.
  • CMS is optional on every package (+$800 build, +$40/mo at retail).
  • 50% deposit to schedule; balance at launch.
  • Big integrations (e-commerce, booking engines, multi-language) are scoped separately.
  • Intake can stay written; we call when it helps.
